Are you frustrated? | Personal Training Huntington Beach

I grew up as the 6th of 8 children, 6 boys, and 2 girls. Our whole house and yard were one big athletic playground with swings, parallel bars, ropes for climbing, wrestling mats, barbells, and boxing gloves.

I remember the first time I discovered the weight set in the basement, (Michigan) one of my older brothers was lifting with a friend that day, so I just kind of joined in, well, they would have none of it. Little brothers had to wait. That was frustrating.

I couldn’t wait until they were done so I could try it! As much as I loved the feeling of lifting weights, I remembered being frustrated about how to do it correctly, it wasn’t until my brothers saw how serious I was that they took the time to show me how it was done. I was hooked!

I bought and read everything I could get my hands on to better understand how to get the most out of my lifting. It seems I have always been interested in the thought process of health and fitness, which is why transitioning into personal training, was so natural for me, I realized very early on how much I like to teach.

It was frustrating to learn that I was doing something wrong for Months at a time, not realizing that the struggles are part of the process. Sometimes, in order to learn, you have to give something, your time, your energy, your passion, your focus, something.

A friend of mine once said about frustration, “The reason you get frustrated with things is simply that you care.”

When you find yourself frustrated by the demands of a goal…a worthy goal…remind yourself of all the struggles/gifts along the way.

At the Tspot we get frustrated if our clients don’t reach all their goals, why? Because we care!
